How to Add/Remove/Check Family and Friends on Airtel Network

January 23, 2019 By mcmedal001 Leave a Comment

Adding family and friends on the Airtel Nigeria network using USSD code is a bit straightforward. It is also as easy to delete/remove and add new (replace) a number on your Airtel family and friends list.

If that’s what you are looking for you are in the right place. This article will also show you how to check your family and friends list on Airtel network.

How to Add/Remove/Check Family and Friends on Airtel

We always have those special ones that we call very often and almost every day. It could be that special gist partner, our parents, siblings or spouse. Most of the times, we are discouraged by the cost of airtime we incur in keeping up these special connections every day.

Ever wondered how you can call all these special people for less especially on the Airtel line? This article is going to help you know how to spend less on calling your special ones on the Airtel network.

About Airtel Family and Friends Package

The Airtel Family and Friends plan is a service available to Airtel prepaid users. It allows them to call four (4) special persons for less on the Airtel network.

Airtel Family and Friends plan allows you to call four (4) Airtel numbers for as low as 25 kobo per second (₦15 per minute) during the peak period (6 a.m. to 10 p.m.). However, it costs 21 kobo per second (₦12.6 per minute) during the off peak period (10 p.m. to 6 a.m.).

These four special persons must also be users on the Airtel network. The Airtel Family and Friends is only applicable to prepaid users on the Airtel Smart Connect Plan.

The good news is that the Airtel Smart Connect Plan is the default plan that comes with every newly purchased Airtel SIM card. It gives customers 800% bonus on any recharge made on the line.

Unfortunately, once you have opted out of that plan, there is no code to opt back in. This means that once you migrate to another tariff plan outside the default Airtel Smart Connect plan, you cannot migrate back to it. Consequently, you will be removed from using the Airtel Family and Friends plan.

How to Add Family and Friends on Airtel Nigeria Network

To add your special 4 Airtel numbers to the Family and Friends list, simply dial the following USSD code:

 *311*2*Airtel Number#

Adding a number to family and friends on Airtel is free for the first 4 numbers registered. You can however, remove or add numbers to the Family and Friends list in the future.

You might, for any reason want to replace any of these numbers. What you would do is to delete the one you want out and register the new number. This will replace the one you deleted.

How to Delete a Number on Airtel Family and Friends

To delete or remove any number from your Family and Friends list, simply dial *311*3*Airtel number you want to remove#. For example,

*311*3*08023354489#

Deleting any number from the Family and Friend list is also free. However, to register any new Airtel number asides the first 4 numbers registered on the Family and Friends, you will pay ₦20.

How To Check Family and Friends List on Airtel Nigeria Network

To check your Family and Friends list, simply dial *311*4#.

These details are correct as at January 2019. The old short codes for Family and Friends on the Airtel network are no longer functional (i.e. *141*…).

For those who have opted out of the Airtel Smart Connect Plan, there is an option with the Airtel One package which allows you to call just 2 special persons for less (this can be discussed later in another article).

If you are an Airtel user, you can now call your special ones for less with the Airtel Family and Friends package!!!
