Sometimes, you see an amazing product at a very good price on Amazon and you just want to get it. Other times, you stumble on a product you can’t even find in Nigeria and you can’t help but buy it. However, there remains the question – How will you ship to Nigeria if you buy on Amazon?

First of all, let me put your mind at rest about shipping a good from Amazon to Nigeria. It is possible bot that straightforward. In light of this, you can go ahead and start saving whatever you want buy. However, you need to know the options available in terms of shipping Amazon.com products to Nigeria.

Amazon Shipping to Nigeria

How to know which products Amazon Ships to Nigeria!

Majority of seller on Amazon don’t deliver items to Nigeria mostly due to fraud. Therefore, you have to adopt some of the methods I am going to share below.

You might think, “oh, he said majority. Does that mean some sellers on Amazon ship directly to Nigeria?” Yes, some do ship directly to Nigeria. In fact, Amazon has a page solely created to list products of sellers who ship to Nigeria. They are mostly paperback books that you can also buy here.

Any product on Amazon that can be shipped to Nigeria usually has “Eligible for Shipping to Nigeria” tag on them. Check the image below to see what it looks like.

How To Ship From Amazon To Nigeria

Just because there’s different strokes for different folks, I will be sharing different methods of shipping anything you buy on Amazon to Nigeria. Be it phones, TV, computer monitors, books, fashion design materials, gadgets, watches. etc.

There are several threads on Amazon shipping to nigeria on NairaLand forum. They have helped a lot of people. However, a lot of them can also be confusing because a lot of those threads contain different ideas from different people. Therefore, they lack coherence and articulation.

This article intends to remedy that. I will do that by writing the different methods of Amazon shipping to Nigeria and explaining them one after the other. Below are how to ship Amazon items to Nigeria.

Ask the Amazon Seller to Help Ship Item to Nigeria

This is going to be a personal arrangement between you and the seller. Amazon will not be a party to this. Hence, if anything happens during shipping of the item, you will not be able to redress officially via Amazon. So, you might want to consider this option thoroughly before using it.

It is important to inform you that you can only use this method to do direct Amazon shipping to Nigeria, if fulfilment is done by the seller. What do I mean by this? Fulfilment by the seller means that the seller is the one who ships the item.

There is an Amazon service called Fulfillment by Amazon (FBA). With this, the seller makes the items available to Amazon and they are shipped by Amazon when you buy. In this case, you are not able to discuss with Amazon to help ship to Nigeria.

One could argues that this is the easiest method. However, nothing is guaranteed. The seller might not agree to fulfill your request to ship directly to Nigeria.

A lot of U.S. sellers and non-U.S. users who offer their products on Amazon do not agree to send anything to Nigeria. This is simply because of the bad reputation of fraud the bad eggs from this country have created. We all should work to repair this image.

Amazon Shipping to Nigeria through Friends and Family abroad

I have purchased books (hard cover) many times on Amazon. You should know that I have friends scattered all over Europe and I have used that to my advantage a lot. I particularly buy books Amazon and send to one of my friends in Germany. For this reason, I normally buy from amazon.de.

To use this method, contact your friend or family member abroad and ask them if they would be willing to receive the purchase for you. Trust me, not everyone would be willing to accept the Amazon delivery for you. Even your family members might say no to the request. Some don’t just want to answer for items that are not theirs at the airport.

If they agree, make sure you use the amazon website that is serves their region. For example, if you want to send to a friend in the United Kingdom, buy from amazon.co.uk. In case you are sending to someone in the United States of America (USA), use amazon. com.

Whenever there’s someone coming home (Nigeria), they can add it to their luggage. You won’t have to pay a dime to ship your Amazon items to Nigeria.

Use of Shippers Address (Amazon ⇒ Shipper ⇒ Nigeria)

It is as simple as shown in the bracket above. You simply buy your good on Amazon and get them sent to a shipper and the shipper ships your items to Nigeria. This method is also called “using a forwarding address”.

There a good number of reputable shippers that help receive product from Amazon and ship to Nigeria. Let me make it clear that you can’t just buy product and send to any shipper’s forwarding address. You have to let them know by registering with them.

You must have registered with the Amazon shipper (say for example GeekishNG Shipin Coy.). It is during the registration that you will provide them with your shipping address, Nigerian Zip/Postal Code and other required information.

After completing your registration, you will also get the shippers (GeekishNG Shipin Coy) forwarding address. It is this forwarding address that you will enter when filling out shipping information on Amazon.

Amazon will deliver your purchased items to GeekishNG Shipin Coy. (the shipper). They will now in turn deliver to the shipping address you gave while registering with them.

Delivering the items to the shipper can be free but the shipper will charge you to deliver your item to Nigeria. How much you are charged depends largely on the weight and size of the item.

Example of companies that render this service include MallForAfrica, AmazonToAfrica, Hont Global Services and ShopToMyDoor. Hont Global Services charges around 4 US Dollars per pound (lb) to ship from US to Lagos.

These are the three method of Amazon shipping to Nigeria that we know. So, if you have been asking yourself how to ship items you buy from Amazon to Nigeria, you have it now.

You now know ship purchased items from Amazon to Nigeria.
