Choosing a Mobile data plan is relatively simple on MTN I must say. All you need to do is to simply select from their bouquet of bundle plans below. MTN calls it a “rich bouquet of flexible and affordable data plans”, but many people would not agree to that claim.
Word on street is that MTN Data Plans (internet packages) are one of the most expensive in Nigeria while it is generally believe that Glo Data Plans are the most affordable in the country (low price for huge data). Time-Based MTN Data Plans and Subscription Codes for iPhone, Android & Computer Modems
In this section, you will see all MTN time-based data plans i.e. their daily, weekly and monthly data bundles that you can choose from. Even though they have validity measured with time, these internet data plans still have data caps. Which means that as soon as you exhaust the data allotted to your subscription, internet access stops. It doesn’t matter if the validity is 60 days.

Some people have asked if there are special data bundles for MTN 4G. The answer is No! You don’t need any special data plan for 4G. All 2G and 3G voice and Data plans will work on 4G. However, your SIM Card and Phone must be 4G-enabled.
Subscribers who wish to make use of any of the MTN Social Data Plans should note the following:
- You can subscribe to any combination of plans. You can subscribe to all the plans or select any preferable combination. For example, you can subscribe to the Facebook and WhatsApp social plans only making you have internet access on those two social apps.
- Fair usage policy of 5MB applies to the weekly social plans while a fair usage policy of 25MB applies to the Monthly plans.
- You can unsubscribe to MTN Social Data Plans by sending “NO applicable Keyword” to SMS shortcode – 131. E.g: NO WCM to 131 for WeChat monthly plan or NO WAW to 131 for WhatsApp weekly bundle.
